This notice explains how Gold Maple Tree Limited (“we”, “us”) handles personal information when you visit goldmapletree.com or correspond with us. We have written it in plain English on purpose. If anything is unclear, write to us and we will explain it.
01 — Who we are
Gold Maple Tree Limited is a private company incorporated in Hong Kong SAR (Business Registration No. 76387096-000-04-24-A), with its registered office at Flat E, 13/F, Block 1, Yuet Wu Villa, 2 Wu Sau Road, Tuen Mun, Hong Kong. We are the data user in respect of personal information collected through this website.
02 — What we collect
We collect only the personal information we need to do business with you:
- Information you give us: your name, email address, telephone number, and the contents of any message you send us, when you write to hello@goldmapletree.com or any of our named contacts.
- Information we collect automatically: standard web-server logs (IP address, user-agent, request timestamps) for security and abuse prevention, retained briefly.
- Cookies: see our Cookie Policy for the full list. The site itself uses no analytics or advertising cookies.
We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
03 — How we use it
We use personal information for the following purposes only:
- To respond to enquiries and conduct business correspondence with you;
- To deliver the engagement you have asked us to deliver;
- To meet our legal, regulatory, and tax obligations in Hong Kong SAR;
- To protect the integrity and security of our website.
We do not use personal information for direct marketing or for any purpose unrelated to the original reason it was provided. We do not sell, rent, or barter personal data.
05 — International transfers
Our infrastructure is hosted in Singapore. Some of the third-party services we use are operated from outside Hong Kong, including the European Union and the United States. Where personal information leaves Hong Kong, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as contractual protections with the receiving party.
06 — Retention
We retain personal information for only as long as it is needed for the purpose for which it was collected, plus any period required by law. Operational correspondence is typically retained for the duration of the engagement plus seven years for tax and audit purposes; web-server logs are retained for at most 90 days.
07 — Your rights
Under the Hong Kong Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486), you have the right to:
- Confirm whether we hold personal data about you;
- Request access to a copy of that data;
- Request correction of any data that is inaccurate;
- Object to the use of your data for direct marketing (we do not do this anyway).
To exercise any of these rights, write to our Privacy Officer at the address in section 09. We will respond within 40 days. We may charge a reasonable fee for fulfilling a data-access request, in line with the Ordinance.
08 — Security
We apply technical and organisational measures appropriate to the small scale of our practice: encrypted connections (TLS), access controls on our internal systems, and routine review of who has access to what. No system is impenetrable; if we ever discover a material breach affecting your data, we will notify you and the relevant authorities promptly.
